Well friends, it is unfortunate. Sometimes we have to do what we have to do, even if we don’t appreciate having to do it.
I really loved being here at wordpress and sharing all the fun times with you. But I have to close the blog here because the world is littered with sad souls who want to ruin all the fun times. So we have to move the party elsewhere. The good times will still roll (who ever said I let the air out of the balloon before sun up?) and you all are still invited.
Well some of you anyway.
So pick up your party favors and send me a message with your contact info and I will be happy to give you directions to the new place. Those of you who don’t get the directions, well you will know you were the party pooper and get sent home.
Love you Opa! Tuesday, Mar 13 2007

Opa (Chris’ g-father) called just a short while ago. He has been the realtor that has been dealing with our end of the estate sale for the last several months. He wanted to let me know that the closing on the property and house was signed today. My sister and I will be recieving a partial payment for the sale within the next few days, as per the probate attorney conversation I had last week. He has to keep some funds in holding until the IRS approves the nontaxable status!
WOOHAW!

I so rock! Monday, Mar 12 2007
Church and college and family 12:29 pm
I thought that being out of school this long would have me so out of the routine that going back this morning would be such a “fish out of water” experience. I figured that we all would be wandering around 5 year olds at our first day of school, but we did okay. My Professional Development class was a no brainer. But it pretty much is that type of class anyway. We reviewed the last test we did before break (but she has misplaced mine, if she cant find it, she will have me retake it on Wednesday) and reviewed our standard and scanable resume to hand in. Then we selected topics for our final presentation. I have been chosen to conduct a presentation on customer relations (both internal and external). And girlfriends, have I got some things to say on that subject! But we won’t go there now…..
On to my Excel class. Just before class one of my dear friends let me know that we had a test for chapters 5 and 6! Oh, my bad, didn’t remember that! So I crammed using the study guide she gave me and prayed for the best (Ha, try to tell me there is no prayer allowed in school!) So we head in and dang if I did not rock that test! I got a 80% on the first part and a 90% on the second part. Yea I LOVED that!
Yesterday at church we had an excellent sermon. Paster Carter has just done a wonderful job coming into our church. His sermon yesterday was about being in the youth of your commitment to God, and your actual age has nothing to do with that. He spoke on how the mistakes of our past cannot determine the future walk with God. We all have to confess our sins to Him, ask forgiveness and make better choices for the future. He spoke about the sins that people continue today in their own selfishness and ignorance and the result of those choices. That is one thing I have always believed, that when people wind up in a bad spot, most of the time it is because they made a bad choice. Now I know that is not all “politically correct” and all, but heck people, we have politically correct-ed ourselves into a society where we have a country of crackheaded, whiny-butt, irresponsible, sassy-mouthed “adults” that just want to blame other people for the mess they got themselves into. We have turned drug rehab into a dang resort where it is cool to go hang out for awhile! We got people who are running around with a cart load of screaming kids all from different daddy’s and they bitch about how hard their life is rasing them. Well let me clue you in sweetie, what part did you have in getting yourself into that position?
Now don’t get me wrong, I know we all make mistakes, heck I have made a few in my time, but there gets to a point in life where you have to stop the whining, grow up, and make better choices. That is where God comes in. He wants to show you the right way; teach us some common sense! There is a reason why the Bible is the oldest book in print, because it WORKS! But let me clue you all in on something, in case it has escaped you. Common sense is a wonderful thing!
We all who got more than a semester of kindergarten knows that drugs will MESS YOU UP! and if you got all the way through high school, that means you have heard that lecture at least 26 times. Then if you go out there and smoke weed, snort crack, or shoot something up your arm, do I feel sorry for you? Nope.
Go out one time, get drunk, puke all over a car or wake up with a hangover, and then do it again and complain how awful you feel or that you didn’t mean to sleep with that girl? Sympathy from me? Don’t hold your breath!
Rob a store and blame it on the fact that your Mommy didn’t hug you enough and you can’t get a job? Oh cry me a river!
But I digress…..
So I picked up this book at church called “Building a Home Full of Grace” by John and Susan Yates. It is about establishing a family bond that puts God at the center of the home and how you build that with every member of your family. I know that for Andrew and I, that is so important for us. We want to be the example to our children on how to praise God and follow the words He has for us. In turn we hope that our boys will lead better lives, be better men and respect the common sense that will keep them from the traps of Satan.
And on that note, I ask that you be in prayer for Tracie today. She is at Duke Medical Center as I type this preparing for the tests and meeting with the doctors there. Please bless her with your thoughts.

Andrew and Church and Nathan and family and obsessive house-cleaning 10:34 am
1. Are you related to anyone famous or do you have any famous friends? If so, who?
My father’s cousin traced our family a few years ago. I am the great-great-great-great-grand niece of Robert E. Lee and through him we are related to George Washington. Also she was able to trace us to Humphrey Bogart. On my mothers side of the family we have relations to the British Royal Family.
As for famous friends, well i went to junior high school with General Schwarzkopf’s daughter, Jessica and I knew her. Also my best friend Tracie is good friends with our new represenative to Congress, Heath Shuler. Does that count? Didn’t think so.
2. Do you have any autographs or memorabilia?I did have several when I was younger, but I don’t anymore.
3. If you could meet any 3 celebrities who would they be? Kenny, duh! Oprah, and Dr. Phil
4. What would you want to be famous for doing?
Good darn question! Nothing illegal or immoral!
5. Who’s the most annoying celebrity?
Geez, Paris Hilton obviously. Rosie O’Donnell because she is such a whiner, heck the entire cast of “The View” because they are so mouthy and overbearing.
Watching “Today” this morning I heard that today is national “Get over it” day. How perfect! I am so getting over this issue with Verizon Wireless that I have been dealing with all week, I hand that issue over to the BBB and the Federal Trade Commission. Plus I got a phone call yesterday from WLOS our local televison station who might do a story on it, but we will wait and see.
I am so over this Spring Cleaning and today is the last day. Laundry and go through Nathan’s clothes for spring and summer.
I am so over Chesney trying to turn my flower basket into his bed.
I am so over negative people acting trashy. Loving the fact that when the truth is dumped at their feet, they tuck their tail and run home to mommy.
Things I am not over:
My sweetheart surprized me last night and came home! Today is going to be an intresting day, they have to do a mock injury where they have to give themselves a Epi-pen shot in the thigh (not to worry, it will be filled with saline, so no one will get sick from a real one) I had to tease Dusty because Andrew said that yesterday he said he was not going to do it. Andrew got him on the phone and was going to tell him I said that he was whimping out. I told him that Jesus took nails in the hands and feet for us, and he was scared of a little needle? But he had changed his mind and is going to do it. But Rob is still not doing it.
Wimp! But I suppose I should not say much, because I am terrified of needles. Getting a shot is horrible for me, and having blood drawn or a IV is TORTURE! I remember when I was in the hospital with pre-term labor, the nurse had to completly cover my forearm where I had the IV for the first 2 days because just looking at it made me nearly pass out!
Nathan is doing excellent in school. His math and spelling tests are still great, he has been making 100% on them consistently and his reading grades are getting better every week. He says that he is liking music and art class much more this semester. His teacher says he has really been great in helping other students in class.
This morning as I took Nathan to school I see that our church is being repainted and looks beautiful so far. We do have a church work day coming up I think next weekend so hopefully if we have great weather, Andrew and I will join everyone to do some work there.
Well better get to the clothes, see ya later!
My mommy changed her mind. Thursday, Mar 8 2007
Uncategorized 10:43 pm
So several months ago I told Mom that when I got the inheritance that I wanted to take her on vacation, where ever she wished to go. She thought about it and finally decided on Savannah. Cool, I thought. I liked the idea of going somewhere neither one of us had been to and I liked the idea of going to where one of my favorite movies was filmed. (That would be “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) plus Mom was wanting to go Paula Deen’s place.
So today as I headed to Bryson City, I called mom to let her know that the sale of the property was finally looking like it was going through (and still for the $200,000.00 we asked) so to start packing up a suitcase!
But hold up, mom changed her mind! It seems that my Aunt Melva, Pam and a few others went down to Charleston and Savannah on a Christian tour and didn’t think it was all the special. So I ask if she has other places in mind. She first suggested Myrtle Beach because she saw a commercial that said that Myrtle Beach has 280 places to eat! Leave it to my mom to keep it real and know the priorities!
Second suggestion almost caused me to wreck the car! She said “Or maybe we could go to Nashville?” HECK YEA! SO THERE MOM! WOOOOWOOOOOO!
So I am of course all about that! I always wanted to live in Nashville and if I can visit I would so go. So we talk about what we want to do. Of course we want to go to the Ryman Auditorium. We also want to visit the Hermitage and we talked about going on one of those tours to see celebrity homes. Just one warning, we will have to find just the right one. If we get on a tour that gets anywhere near the home of Josh Turner or Clay Walker, I will lose my mother. The last I will see of her is seeing her scaling a fence and breaking in the front door.
But then again better strap me in if we get within earshot of Kenny Chesney’s or I even catch a glimpse of the roof owned by Chris Cagle.
So we hope to go sometime this summer, possibly late June or July. I still think we will go to Myrtle Beach too. Cant lose the opportunity to eat our way through South Carolina.
Chris, here is the video for you all:

Church 12:08 pm
On our MySpace page, Andrew and I have a daily Bible verse insert. This is today’s verse and just what I needed to hear. Thank you Heavenly Father for your blessings to those who believe.
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and and are filled with an inexpressionable and glorious joy.
-1 Peter 1:8
I do have great joy in my life. I have the blessing of a wonderful, healthy child that is loved by all, who believes and prays to Our Lord. A great man in Andrew who loves me unconditionally and is my rock. I have a family that is faithful and good. I have friends who are the best I could ever imagine. I have a beautiful home (well except for the mess going on right now from fixing a simple faucet!), a car that ROCKS! And most of all a Savior that sustains us all. Oh I know I have alot more blessings I could go on and on about so much more, but you get the point right?
Oh yea, I consider my elipitical machine a blessing too, just ignore me when I cuss at it when it makes me walk like Ozzy Osbourne through the house.
I am taking the day off. Thursday, Mar 8 2007
Andrew and obsessive house-cleaning 11:47 am
Since I have a team of people in my house just to fix a faucet, I am taking today off from spring cleaning.
Yea here is the story, to get to the bathroom tub faucet, they have to get to the wall behind the fixture for removal. Well sounds simple enough right? Whoa, hold up there Nelly, the other side of this particular wall is where the heat pump is housed! So in order to replace a simple tub fixture they have to go in, pull out the heat pump, replace the fixture, then put the heat pump back in. What would normally be a 20 minute job is requiring 3 people and has been going on now for 2 1/2 hours. So to do anything would be a pain in the butt since they are right smack in the middle of the house and right next to the laundry room, and to wash anything would require me to leap over all of them, plus all the tools and equipment they have spread out all over the place. It is okay, the only room I have left to do is Nathan’s room and I am going was going to do it tommorow anyway.
Andrew is gone to play “Deliverence” in the woods for the next 2 days. Today is the long day of training and they don’t expect to get done today until maybe 9 o’clock tonight, but he does not expect that to happen. So he and a good friend are planning on camping out there and be ready for class tomorrow morning at 8am. But not to worry, he will be keeping an ear open and at the first sign of banjo music, he is headed home!
So after the work crew jets out, I am headed to Bryson City myself, Andrew needs a pair of shorts he forgot and then I will head to Tracies for lunch and girl chat. Then tonight after Nathan gets home we will meet up with Tracie, Kendra and Christian to head to Clyde for Christain’s basketball game. I’ll be sure to get pics.
So that is the update for today. Also if I can ask, please pray for Tracie. Monday afternoon she will be at Duke University Medical Center for a battery of tests. Some of you know that she has Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder and her entire life has been turned upside down because of it. I just hope and pray that with these doctors, that something can be done for her. This disease is very rare and so far, none of the mulitiple doctors and specalists she has seen over the last 5 years has been able to help. So we pray for God’s intervention and that she can get some real help. We know that at this point, there is no cure, but anything that can be done to stop or reduce the effects on her is a blessing.
And please continue to pray for the Denmark Family in Enterprize, Alabama.
Thank you and God Bless!

Andrew and obsessive house-cleaning and photography 1:51 pm
I am totally guilty.
Yesterday I did the bare minimum in the living room. mainly because this room is cleaned all the time, so I just vacumed and dusted. Thought about moving the furniture around, but was not sure what do with it so I left it alone. Today I am working on the office/gym/storage room. I am gonna hate it, but I know I will feel better once I do. I am also doing laundry too since the genious that is Andrew and his dad were able to fix it the night it whimped out on me. It took them having to unhook it, drag it out the back door and dump the water off the back porch. Then they took the back off, cleared out the pump and brought it back in. Not an easy feat i’ll tell you! Then once they got it in, and dad had left, we realized the drum was off balance and Andrew had to take the top off and realign it. Fun times ya know?
So now we are in the home stretch of Spring Cleaning 2007, there is a light at the end of the tunnel after all!
Yesterday Carrie and I had lunch at the Rusty Lizard, the fried lizards were very good dipped in sour cream! (haha) I got a grilled chicken salad sandwich and could not devour it fast enough! Carrie had potato skins, fried poppers and tacqutos. Then she scooted back to the office before having to leave with her boss to head to Charlotte for a work seminar. I came home and tried out round 3 on my elipitical and I managed to stay on it without feeling light headed!
Well I was only on it for 5 minutes, but that’s just details right?
Tracie suggested getting on it for just 5 minutes at a time, but do it 3-4 times a day, then build up to 10 minutes and so on. Sounds like a plan to me!
Yesterday Andrew had another great injury. The senario was a car accident. Andrew was thrown from the backseat up to the front and “suffered” a head wound. He sent me the photo on our phone and it was nasty looking. Plus he had to get sick on a rescuer. So he had a mouth full of oatmeal and then quickly as a rescuer approached he took a quick drink of water to make it real looking. He waited until one of the guy’s he is good friends with came up behind him and waited for him to turn Andrew over and then he “threw up” on him. He said the guy freaked out and it was all Andrew could do to not laugh. I so wish I could be there to see them act out these scenes, I think I would be in stitches.
So then after class Andrew had to run to the grocery store and had forgotten about the fake blood all over his forehead and side of his face. He walked in an really freaked out the cashier. I think I should start packing Wet Wipes in the car for him to clean himself up with. I got some photos of him acting out as a accident victim last night, so check it out in Flickr.
Well better get back to the storage boxes!
