My mommy changed her mind. Thursday, Mar 8 2007

So several months ago I told Mom that when I got the inheritance that I wanted to take her on vacation, where ever she wished to go. She thought about it and finally decided on Savannah. Cool, I thought. I liked the idea of going somewhere neither one of us had been to and I liked the idea of going to where one of my favorite movies was filmed. (That would be “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) plus Mom was wanting to go Paula Deen’s place.

So today as I headed to Bryson City, I called mom to let her know that the sale of the property was finally looking like it was going through (and still for the $200,000.00 we asked) so to start packing up a suitcase!

But hold up, mom changed her mind! It seems that my Aunt Melva, Pam and a few others went down to Charleston and Savannah on a Christian tour and didn’t think it was all the special. So I ask if she has other places in mind. She first suggested Myrtle Beach because she saw a commercial that said that Myrtle Beach has 280 places to eat! Leave it to my mom to keep it real and know the priorities!

Second suggestion almost caused me to wreck the car! She said “Or maybe we could go to Nashville?” HECK YEA! SO THERE MOM!  WOOOOWOOOOOO!

So I am of course all about that! I always wanted to live in Nashville and if I can visit I would so go. So we talk about what we want to do. Of course we want to go to the Ryman Auditorium. We also want to visit the Hermitage and we talked about going on one of those tours to see celebrity homes. Just one warning, we will have to find just the right one. If we get on a tour that gets anywhere near the home of Josh Turner or Clay Walker, I will lose my mother. The last I will see of her is seeing her scaling a fence and breaking in the front door.

But then again better strap me in if we get within earshot of Kenny Chesney’s or I even catch a glimpse of the roof owned by Chris Cagle.

So we hope to go sometime this summer, possibly late June or July. I still think we will go to Myrtle Beach too. Cant lose the opportunity to eat our way through South Carolina.

Chris, here is the video for you all:

God works in mysterious ways…. Thursday, Mar 8 2007

On our MySpace page, Andrew and I have a daily Bible verse insert. This is today’s verse and just what I needed to hear. Thank you Heavenly Father for your blessings to those who believe.

Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and and are filled with an inexpressionable and glorious joy.

                                                                                                  -1 Peter 1:8

I do have great joy in my life. I have the blessing of a wonderful, healthy child that is loved by all, who believes and prays to Our Lord. A great man in Andrew who loves me unconditionally and is my rock. I have a family that is faithful and good. I have friends who are the best I could ever imagine. I have a beautiful home (well except for the mess going on right now from fixing a simple faucet!), a car that ROCKS! And most of all a Savior that sustains us all. Oh I know I have alot more blessings I could go on and on about so much more, but you get the point right?

Oh yea, I consider my elipitical machine a blessing too, just ignore me when I cuss at it when it makes me walk like Ozzy Osbourne through the house.

I am taking the day off. Thursday, Mar 8 2007

Since I have a team of people in my house just to fix a faucet, I am taking today off from spring cleaning.

Yea here is the story, to get to the bathroom tub faucet, they have to get to the wall behind the fixture for removal. Well sounds simple enough right? Whoa, hold up there Nelly, the other side of this particular wall is where the heat pump is housed! So in order to replace a simple tub fixture they have to go in, pull out the heat pump, replace the fixture, then put the heat pump back in. What would normally be a 20 minute job is requiring 3 people and has been going on now for 2 1/2 hours. So to do anything would be a pain in the butt since they are right smack in the middle of the house and right next to the laundry room, and to wash anything would require me to leap over all of them, plus all the tools and equipment they have spread out all over the place. It is okay, the only room I have left to do is Nathan’s room and I am going was going to do it tommorow anyway.

Andrew is gone to play “Deliverence” in the woods for the next 2 days. Today is the long day of training and they don’t expect to get done today until maybe 9 o’clock tonight, but he does not expect that to happen. So he and a good friend are planning on camping out there and be ready for class tomorrow morning at 8am. But not to worry, he will be keeping an ear open and at the first sign of banjo music, he is headed home!

So after the work crew jets out, I am headed to Bryson City myself, Andrew needs a pair of shorts he forgot and then I will head to Tracies for lunch and girl chat. Then tonight after Nathan gets home we will meet up with Tracie, Kendra and Christian to head to Clyde for Christain’s basketball game. I’ll be sure to get pics.

So that is the update for today. Also if I can ask, please pray for Tracie. Monday afternoon she will be at Duke University Medical Center for a battery of tests. Some of you know that she has Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder and her entire life has been turned upside down because of it. I just hope and pray that with these doctors, that something can be done for her. This disease is very rare and so far, none of the mulitiple doctors and specalists she has seen over the last 5 years has been able to help. So we pray for God’s intervention and that she can get some real help. We know that at this point, there is no cure, but anything that can be done to stop or reduce the effects on her is a blessing.

And please continue to pray for the Denmark Family in Enterprize, Alabama.

Thank you and God Bless!
